# Temperature Zone Significance

The burning mechanism translates X mentions of a phrase during the last 30 minutes into a coin burning rate in liquidity pools. Different burning rates (percentage of coins per hour) apply to different temperature zones:

"HOT" (orange) temperature is straightforward:

* We use 30-minute counts of X mentions, resulting in 48 mention measurements per day
* The maximum measurement from the previous day becomes the Extreme zone threshold for the current day

Theoretically, if today's activity mirrors yesterday's, we would never reach the Extreme zone. Thus, "Extreme" temperature indicates that the number of mentions during a 30-minute period exceeds any 30-minute period from the previous day—a definitive spike in mentions.

"Cold" (blue) temperature occurs:

* When the number of mentions falls below the median of yesterday's 30-minute measurements
* In a theoretical scenario where today's activity matches yesterday's, 24 out of 48 30-minute intervals would fall below this threshold, and 24 would exceed it
* In reality, more 30-minute intervals in the blue zone indicate diminished mentions/attention (on X) compared to the previous day

The yellow line lies between "Extreme" and "Cold" zones, delineating "Hot" and "Medium" zones. The yellow level represents the 5th highest number of mentions from the previous day.
